This course is a study of Jewish Historical fiction works designed to help the student understand the meaning and purpose of the historical fiction genre. The student will form a general opinion of the value of historical fiction by reading books which provide an understanding of the human element with respect to various time periods. This course involves reading a variety of historical novels, then demonstrating an understanding of the Jewish experience in that time period through short answer questions and protracted essay writing.
